On Saturday 9 November, Living Not Beige hosted an event in the National Changemakers Festival. With around 20 people in attendance, we delivered a presentation on Living Not Beige and the first planned development at 1 Dianella Way, Aldinga.

Traditional developers provide ‘beige’ solutions to housing without concern for liveability, neighbourhood and social development. People’s lives are too important for this!

Living Not Beige creates homes as well as community.  We engage home buyers, local neighbours, government and service agencies from the first stages in a project.  We think, talk and map the interconnections of private, social and community spaces to help people develop relationships in their community.  By the time people move into their new homes, they’ve already met the neighbours and have the structures in place to get involved in decisions that affect their lifestyle and their community.
